As a topping on top of it, we were here for three nights booked spontaneously to work and saved us so once again a little money, that pleases the backpacker bag:). On top there were all nice people. By Simon from Germany, Andrew, of Philadelphia, and Marc from Australia and of course, Gloria went to the harbor watching penguins. The night here just waddle out of the water across the road towards their children … The next day we took the ratio of 5 legendary German Americans on a hike, past sea lions and birds, and saw the tracks of the penguins and climbed on a wire cable 3 meters to heaven to be rewarded with a fantastic view over the shimmering ocean.Seacliff – our new home:)This may be so slow really say! Initially the plan was to stay here only two nights in order to bridge the time until our company in Dunedin … But here, the place is just fantastic! Seacliff is a small town so it’s not really a city, but if you turn right at a small street and starts up the hill a little one arrives at the Asylum Lodge, from which one can see the sea. Here Frank lives with his 50 vintage cars, surfboards, kayaks, horses, and what I do not know everything yet:). When one enters the hostel, we first look at an old cinema door, Frank was able to save with her two sisters from demolition. Further one goes, one comes into a dark-painted living room that is home to a palm tree, which pushes up already at the ceiling. On the wall is a fireplace and on the side of an old wing, where each key has a different height. The whole is decorated with old black and white images, wooden chests with firewood and collected all sorts of ancient artworks. The palm tree has now become a Christmas tree with lights, Christmas balls and tinsel … This beautiful music all day running from Frank’s library. If you’re not just reading, turn aside to look the sun and the sea, or watch a movie that is easy to surf and that for 7.50 euro per day … todtraurig Gloria and I were when we had to leave after only 2 nights already returned to Dunedin Finally, because we had booked.DunedinA little broken, because we were missing Seacliff so much, we in wundertoll Hogwartz in Dunedin. Also a great hostel, which we could not honor it properly, as it deserves. Here, we immediately asked upon arrival if we are not already on 25 leave could be held as scheduled on 27 Because here the 25th However, the Christmas Day, was not it. So we wrote our new friends Seacliff-Justus and Sven that we are not the X-mas party on 25 can be returned. Frank then took us one ado, on 25 In vain to be allowed to stay with him, so we do not miss the party and we are not in the “Bloody Hogwartz” – as he called it must remain -:). Thus, our mood was saved, and we have our Christmas for 24 planen. In the morning it was erstmal with Christmas hats to the beach! Then there was then in the Hogwartz a party with barbecue, salads, potatoes, cottage cheese, apple strudel, chocolate mousse and and and … After we all neat bellies were stuffed, we are by 23 30 Clock went to the midnight mass in order to experience a Christmas church service on New Zealand to be. Beamer was here transferred to the lyrics and shows whether grad can only sing the chorus or the community. After countless songs, one was finally welcomed yet and it was followed by preaching, prayers, and always singing. All in all a very interesting and nice experience.Seacliff, the SecondThanks to the dear Frank, we left Dunedin on 25 now but already again in order to celebrate in Seacliff even Christmas. After our arrival, went immediately down to the beach surfing:)! Again there was a big BBQ and lots of nice people, but this time outside, and family. Somehow one feels here just do not like a hostel but at home. In the house before we celebrated (Frank did this a couple more) on his property burned in the stone fireplace a cozy fire, and we allowed ourselves to celebrate the day time instead of the local “beer” Cuba Libre and Mojito.Claire SantThe next morning, Justin, Sven, Gloria and I took our two surfboards in the “boot” up at Frank’s house in Sant Claire that he has given us for 3 nights:). The house is just as mad as the hostel. While there is only one room, but can be seen from the bed through the old wooden windows of the beach and the sea! Three days just to relax, watch movies, enjoy the sun and count through the window in the roof off the bed, the stars …Seacliff, the ThirdSince yesterday we are now back in Seacliff – on time tomorrow for New Years Eve BBQ. Gloria and Farina are just shopping, turns out wind, rain and sun, and I still gnawing on the pancakes for breakfast which was …Thus you all a Happy New Year, and the dearest greetings, your Giannina.PS: Photos are no degrees in it, unfortunately, the Internet kreicht …
